Grains Supply Chain Harmonisation

Work has commenced on a GRDC funded project to examine Australian grain industry supply chains.
Through this work, the Food Agility Consultancy team will provide recommendations for improvement in how information is extended for use in sustainability and traceability credentials.
“This supply chain harmonisation review is a unique opportunity to help the sector position itself for global innovations in traceability for market access,” said project lead and Food Agility Chief Scientist Professor Dave Lamb.
“In particular we will be viewing opportunities through the lens of the recently ratified UNECE Recommendation 49 (Transparency at Scale) and the Australian Agricultural Traceability Protocol (AATP), developed as part of the AgTrace Australia initiative.
AgTrace as the foundation to examine case studies from a range of industry exemplars, our work will determine which types of sustainability credentials hold the most value to various supply chain partners, while also identifying emission hotspots, and the capacity of growers and industry participants to meet evolving market requirements.
